BLRT Valukoda, a subsidiary of BLRT Grupp, has signed a construction agreement with the contractor NOBE for a new state-of-the-art foundry in Kohila Parish, Rapla County (Estonia).
The new foundry will triple production output — from one million to three million kilograms of castings per year. With expanded manufacturing capabilities, the facility will also be able to deliver heat-treated products, while advanced software will ensure high product quality, enhanced performance, and reduced environmental impact.
“This modern new facility represents one of the largest foundry-related investments in the Baltic States and Finland. It will not only enable us to meet customer expectations more effectively, but also contribute to regional development, with the foundry set to provide employment for around 70 people,” said Paul Gross, Managing Director of BLRT Valukoda.
“We are proud to be part of a project that will help shape the future of Estonian industry, working in partnership with BLRT Grupp. It has been a several decades since a foundry of this scale and complexity was built in Estonia, which makes the project both exciting and demanding. At NOBE, we are committed to delivering a facility that will stand the test of time and evolving technologies,” said Priit Nigols, Board Member and Construction Director at NOBE.
The foundry is expected to be completed by July 2026, with commissioning scheduled for late summer that year. The total cost of the project is estimated at approximately 14 million euros.
